History of B Hills

Banjara Hills is an urban commercial center in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Banjara Hills is one of more than 150 cities/boroughs comprising Greater Hyderabad, the second largest metropolitan area in India.[1] This is an upmarket locality and is close to Jubilee Hills. This area was a hilly forest area and was least inhabited in the past. Only few royal members of the Nizam's dynasty used to live here, and was also a hunting ground for the Nizams. Due to its history and status this area now has completely transformed to an urban commercial centre of importance. Banjara Hills is segregated by its road numbers, each road having its own importance.They road numbers start from 1 and end at 14.
Banjara Hills is considered the most expensive zip code in India according to Economic Times magazine (Neha Dewan, Aug 26, 2007)[2] and along with Jubilee Hills is the most prestigious borough/city within the greater Hyderabad area to live in. Economic Times estimates that properties in Banjara Hills are worth "a whopping Rs 96,000 crore", an equivalent to US$20,794,944,000, (US$20.7 billion, as of Sep 8, 2011).
Banjara Hills is famous for its hotels, swanky restaurants and big shopping malls. Hotel Taj Krishna, Taj Deccan and Taj Banjara are well known star hotels in this area. Many restaurants have recently come up here which offer cuisines from all over the world to their customers. There are many Retail business establishments in the area. Big malls like the GVK One, City Center, Midtown, Ohris, Ashoka Metropolitan Mall, Alcazar Plaza and many more dot the skyline. The highest building in the Banjara Hills area is the commercial building - Laxmi Cyber Center. The Jalagam Vengal Rao park is also located in Banjara Hills. This park used to be very beautiful, now it has lost its charm because of negligence by GHMC, however many localites visit this park regularly both for jogging and relaxing. Famous personalities live on this road. Most of the business in this area are concentrated on Road No. 1 and 3. Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology is located on Road No. 3. This college has one of the best and largest campuses in the city. It works under the management and ownership of Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society, which also operates Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Law, College of Education, Junior College, School etc. in the same premises. KBR park (Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park) is located close to Road No. 3. A new cultural center called as Lamakaan has been recently opened on Road No. 1.

APSRTC connects Banjara hills to other parts of Hyderabad. New flyovers have eased traffic congestion towards this suburb. The closest MMTS Train station is at Khairtabad. This suburb has a good road network, with roads being renovated constantly to accommodate high traffic during peak hours.
