Kotamraju Rama Rao Journalists Colony Banjara Hills


To provide housing to journalists, the APUWJ sponsored Journalists Co-operative Housing Societies at Hyderabad and Vijayawada. In Hyderabad. The Journalists Co-operative Housing Society developed Kotamraju Rama Rao colony at Banjara Hills on three acres of land provided by the then Chief Minister, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy at a nominal rate in 1969. About 42 journalists got house sites in 1971 there. The then President of India V.V. Giri inaugurated it. In the second Phase, the then Chief Minister Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy allotted 25 acres of land at Jubilee Hills. The Society developed house sites for about 224 journalists. The Colony was named after the legendary journalist, M, Chalapthi Ran in 1980. Later, successive Chief Ministers, Mr. T. Anjaiah and Mr. N.T.Rama Rao’s anctioned funds for the creation of infrastructure for the colony. In the third phase, the then Chief Minister Mr. Kotia Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy provided 60 acres of land at Gopannapalli near University of Hyderabad. The society developed the sites and allotted house plots to about 560 journalists there. Now we have approached the present Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy to allot more land abetting the Gopannapalli site to provide house sites to journalists who are on the waiting list.

Khandani Rajdhani enters Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills area with 33rd outlet

Khandani Rajdhani, a Thali restaurant that offers authentic Rajasthani and Gujarati meals, has entered Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills.

According to a release, the restaurant is sprawling 3,000 sq ft in size and has 85 covers. This unit is the flagship unit of Khandani Rajdhani in Hyderabad. Khandani Rajdhani has been on expansion spree and has opened its outlets in several parts of Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and planning to expand in more cities across India. The company plans to open more 12 outlets in next 6 months across country. This is the 33rd outlet of the chain.
